26年前に自主制作で500枚作って手売りをしていたCD『気舞』。その後08年にJASRACにも登録して一般リリースしてくれたインディーズレーベルもあったけど、今はもう販売されていない。
そんなきわめて無名な日本人のアルバムを発見してくれたのがアメリカのNight Rhythms Recordingsというインディーズレーベル。
去年の11月、僕のところに突然、”Do you have any interest in doing a vinyl reissue of this album? “というメッセージが来て驚いたんだけど、そのチャンネルに去年の8月『気舞』がアップされていてすでに3万回以上再生されていてこれまた驚いた。コメントも100以上。
アンビエントはジャンルとしては小さいものだろうけど、世界にはファンがしっかりいるし、必要とされているんだな。
権利のこととかクリアするのが大変そうだなと思っていたんだけど、なんとリリースしてくれたレーベルが好きにしていいと言ってくれたので、Night Rhythmsが二枚組LPを作ってくれることになり、YouTubeのコメントにもトップで”I'm pleased to announced that Night Rhythms Recordings will be bringing this beautiful masterpiece to double vinyl in 2022.”と書き込んでいる。
ただ、今アメリカではレコードがCDを抜く枚数が作られているほど人気で、プレスにすごく時間がかかるらしく、”It will be a while because vinyl turnaround time is long right now but I’m going to get it ordered and I will be in touch with you in a few months. “ということだが半年くらいかかるかもしれない。
想像することも一切なかった。
ありがたいことで「生きててよかった」と思い、ウクライナの戦争情報で落ちた免疫がちょっと戻った感じ。
コメントもいろいろな表現があり僕にはわからない比喩もあるが、こそばゆいけど嬉しい誉め言葉が並ぶ。ロシア語もあった。

◇Imagine it’s the 14th century and you live in the city of Timbuktu. You just finished a long day of hard work and you walk into a tavern and hear this majestic music.
